VFCJ AUCTION
For information about the VFCJ club please click here
This auction is to benefit the VFCJ color fund. The yearly dues to join the club is only $25. This does not cover all the actual costs to produce the wonderful color magazine that Lucille Tempesta publishes four times a year. So we raise the extra funds by doing an auction in conjunction with our conventions. Our goal this year is to raise at least $12,000.
We have a National Convention every other year, and in the off-years we sometimes have mini-conventions. 2007 is the year for the National Convention being held in Rhode Island from October 19th - 21st. In connection with the National Convention this year we will have four main fund raisers.
First - An ON-LINE-ONLY auction
Second - An on-line/silent auction
Third - A Raffle
Fourth - A live on-site auction at the convention
DONATIONS: You can donate items starting immediately. Any item is acceptable as long as we are able to ship it. You can either take photos and email them to me at louise.champion@comcast.net (I prefer large photos in JPG format. I can resize them to fit)or you can ship me the item and I will take the photos. Please ship to me as follows: Louise Champion, P.O. Box 2761, Alameda, CA 94501. IMPORTANT, please include a DESCRIPTION of the item, SIZE and most importantly the VALUE of the item. If you are shipping the item to me I can write the description and measure it, but I still need the value. Items may also be donated at the convention. If you are not attending the convention, I need to receive your items no later than October 15th to include them in one of the fund raisers listed above. Please note that the sooner the items are received the more people will be able to see them and the more bids we will get.
BIDDING: On-line bids will open September 1st and close on October 15th. Bidding will work (sort of) like EBAY except this is a manual process. I keep a spreadsheet with all the bids, and I have to manually update the site. Each item will have a starting bid price. For Example: An item has a value of $100 and a starting bid of $20. Say you bid $80. We will put you in at $20. If someone else bids $50 your bid will go to $55. If the item you are bidding on is going to the silent auction at the convention, we will continue to bid for you at the convention until your maximum is reached.
If you would like to place bids at the live auction, let us know. We are going to set up cell phone call-backs for live auction bidding. You can also email me at louise.champion@comcast.net if you want to put in a proxy bid. I will have helpers at the convention who will bid for you. Scroll down the side of this page to see the link to the LIVE auction items.
If you would like to purchase RAFFLE TICKETS, they are $5 each or 5 for $20. You can send a Paypal payment to Kathleen Finderson at kfinderson@comcast.net, or you can mail a check to Kathleen at VFCJ c/o Glitter Gals, P.O. Box 11397, Richmond, VA 23230. Be sure to include your email address so that she can confirm that she has received the funds. Winning raffle items will be mailed to the winners who were not able to attend the convention. Items will be mailed Monday following the raffle.
If you win an item we will let you know by Wednesday after the conference. We will try to do this sooner if possible. You can pay for the item and the shipping with a check or Paypal. Once the item is paid it will be shipped.
